INBOUND is approaching. If you’re a seasoned veteran, you know what to expect: the amazing speakers with so much knowledge to offer, the crowds ripe for networking, the scrumptious food trucks…
But for newcomers to the conference, it can be more than a little daunting. Just think, over 24,000 people will descend on the Boston Convention and Exhibit Center. If you don’t have the right strategy beforehand, you might miss out on some important details.
Below, we offer our tips for the HubSpot Conference in Boston after years of attending:
8 Tips for the HubSpot Conference, INBOUND
1. Download the app
Want to reserve seats for sessions and events? Do all this and more through the application!
2. Pre-plan your agenda
With so many amazing sessions to choose from, you need to look through what’s being offered each day and organize your line-up in advance.
First of all, sessions fill up quickly, so start booking now! Secondly, you need to take a closer look because some speakers or events are held at nearby venues instead of the convention center itself.
Lastly, make sure not to stack your sessions too closely. You need to stay until the very end of each session to ask or listen to questions and learn insights.

3. Bring a sweater
Speaking of the convention center, it’s freezing! Talk about that American air-conditioning… Don’t forget to bring a jacket or sweatshirt. You get extra points if your choice of clothing features your company logo!
4. Don't forget your laptop, phone, and chargers
With so much information to absorb, your laptop or tablet is your trusty sidekick for taking notes, posting about the learnings of the day on social media, and consulting the incredible HubSpot Inbound Marketing conference agenda.
Keep your phone handy for exchanging numbers with new contacts or to take phone calls… after all, business never stops.
5. Go to all the "zones"
- Booth Zone: Leave time in your schedule to visit the various booths that are set up, ranging from Marketing agencies, technology partners, HubSpot products, sales agents, and more. You never know what your company might be missing out on.
- HubSpot Tech Zone: Got a question about HubSpot? Of course you do! Get insights into all of your pesky HubSpot problems at the tech zone.
- Food Truck Zone: Does this zone need any further explanation? It’s a bunch of delicious food…on wheels!
6. Create a social media plan
Keep your customers and the Internet at large informed of what you’re doing, and more importantly, what you're learning. Make sure to take lots of pictures and incorporate each day’s learning into a social media post or blog article.
7. Bring business cards
This is an absolute MUST. At INBOUND, you’re going to make tons of new contacts from across the globe. You need to have hundreds of business cards at the ready to give away, plus a safe spot to store the ones given to you.

8. Develop a networking strategy & sales pitch
In line with the business card tip, networking is one of the most important aspects of this HubSpot Inbound Marketing conference. If networking doesn’t come naturally to you, make sure to think about how to engage with strangers and how to politely breach the topic of your company. Memorizing a quick sales pitch is a good way to remain consistent and keep your nerves at bay.
With almost no time left until the next HubSpot Conference, you’d better start planning your survival (and success) strategy NOW!
